Today, we thought we’d provide our list of free Mac OS X apps that we’ve found to be both useful and well designed. In the list below each of the apps has a link to the developers website so that you can do some further investigation of those apps which catch your eye.

A media player which is cross-platform and open-source. Reads most audio and video formats as well as DVDs, Audio CDs and VCDs and supports various streaming products. - Burn

Great all round FTP application. - Xee

A free virus checker for Mac OS X. Uses the tried and tested ClamAV opensource antivirus engine. Help protect your Windows using friends! - Onyx
